Empathy Hearing Aid Center removes that transportation barrier by bringing scheduled hearing care directly to the patient.

Appointments may be provided in private homes, apartments, gated communities, independent living communities, assisted living communities and other appropriate locations throughout Rancho Cucamonga.

Hearing Care in Your Everyday Listening Environment

Hearing difficulties do not occur only in a quiet examination room. They often become noticeable while talking with family members, watching television, participating in meals or communicating with caregivers.

A home appointment gives our hearing care team an opportunity to learn about the listening situations that matter most to the patient.

This real-world perspective can help us make meaningful hearing aid adjustments based on the patient’s everyday environment, listening preferences and communication goals.

For example, a patient may need help understanding family members in the living room, hearing the television from a favorite chair or participating more comfortably in conversations around the dining table.

Family Members and Caregivers Are Welcome

Hearing loss often affects the entire family. Family members and caregivers may notice communication difficulties that the patient does not immediately recognize.

With the patient’s permission, family members and caregivers are welcome to participate in the appointment. They can ask questions, provide helpful information and learn how to support successful hearing aid use.

Mobile appointments make this participation easier because everyone can meet in a familiar environment without arranging transportation to a traditional hearing aid office.

How Mobile Hearing Care Works

1. Contact Our Office

Call or text (951) 268-0097 and explain what type of hearing care you need.

We will ask a few basic questions and confirm whether your location is within our current mobile service area.

2. Schedule Your Mobile Appointment

We will arrange an available appointment time and explain what to expect.

If you are scheduling for a family member, we may request that the patient, caregiver or authorized representative be available to provide the necessary information and consent.

3. Meet With a Hearing Care Provider

A hearing care provider from Empathy Hearing Aid Center will travel to the scheduled location with the equipment needed for the planned service.

The appointment may take place in a private residence, apartment or appropriate room within a senior living community.

4. Complete the Hearing Evaluation*

When a hearing evaluation* is needed, the provider will review the patient’s hearing concerns, relevant history and everyday communication difficulties before completing the appropriate evaluation.

The results will be explained in clear language, and the patient will have an opportunity to ask questions.

5. Discuss Hearing Aid Options

If the hearing evaluation* indicates that amplification may be appropriate, we will discuss hearing aid options based on the patient’s hearing needs, lifestyle, communication goals, preferences and budget.

There is no single hearing aid that is best for every person. The goal is to identify an appropriate solution for the individual patient.

6. Fit and Verify the Hearing Aids

When hearing aids are selected, a fitting appointment will be scheduled. The hearing aids will be programmed according to the patient’s hearing needs.

When appropriate, real-ear measurement is used to verify how the hearing aids are performing in the patient’s ears.

The patient and participating family members or caregivers will also receive instructions on insertion, removal, charging or battery replacement, cleaning and daily use.

7. Receive Follow-Up Care

Hearing aids often require follow-up adjustments as the patient becomes accustomed to amplified sound and begins using the devices in different environments.

Because we are mobile, follow-up care can take place in the patient’s everyday listening environment. This allows the provider to discuss specific communication challenges and make appropriate adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a hearing aid office in Rancho Cucamonga?

No. Empathy Hearing Aid Center is a 100 percent mobile hearing care practice.

We do not represent ourselves as having a physical office or storefront in Rancho Cucamonga. We travel to homes, apartments and senior living communities by appointment.

Can you perform a hearing evaluation* in my home?

Yes. We can perform hearing evaluations* in an appropriate home environment when the location allows the evaluation to be completed properly.

The provider will determine whether the available environment is suitable for the planned service.

What is real-ear measurement?

Real-ear measurement is a verification procedure used during the hearing aid fitting process. A small, soft probe microphone is carefully positioned in the ear canal so the provider can measure how the hearing aid is delivering sound near the eardrum.

Because every person’s ear canal is different, manufacturer settings alone may not show exactly how a hearing aid is performing in an individual ear.

Real-ear measurement allows the provider to compare the measured hearing aid output with appropriate fitting targets and make more precise programming adjustments.

The procedure does not replace the patient’s feedback. Verification results, listening comfort and the patient’s real-world communication needs are all considered when adjusting the hearing aids.

Can you adjust hearing aids purchased somewhere else?

In many cases, yes. Our ability to service or program a hearing aid depends on its manufacturer, model, age, condition and whether we have access to the necessary programming equipment and software.

Call (951) 268-0097 with the hearing aid brand and model so we can determine whether we may be able to help.

Do you serve Alta Loma and Etiwanda?

Yes. Our Rancho Cucamonga mobile service area includes Alta Loma, Etiwanda and surrounding neighborhoods.

Appointment availability may depend on the patient’s location and the type of service required.

Do you provide appointments near Victoria and Day Creek?

Yes. We provide scheduled mobile appointments in the Victoria and Day Creek areas, along with other neighborhoods throughout Rancho Cucamonga.

Can you provide an appointment in a gated community or apartment?

Yes. Please provide any necessary gate instructions, parking information or building-access requirements when scheduling the appointment.

The patient is responsible for obtaining any required permission from the property or community.

Can a family member or caregiver attend?

Yes. Family members and caregivers are welcome to participate with the patient’s permission.

Their involvement can be especially helpful when discussing communication concerns, learning how to operate the hearing aids and planning follow-up care.

Do you visit assisted living and memory care communities?

Yes. We provide mobile hearing aid services in assisted living, memory care, independent living and other senior living communities when an appropriate appointment can be arranged.

Services are subject to the community’s access requirements and the patient’s authorization or consent requirements.

Do you accept insurance?

Insurance coverage and hearing aid benefits vary by plan.

Contact our office with your insurance information so we can explain what information may be needed and whether your plan can be used for the requested service.

Coverage should be confirmed before relying on any hearing aid benefit.

Yes. In addition to Rancho Cucamonga, our broader mobile service area includes Upland, Ontario and other communities throughout the Inland Empire.
